The Premier Hub for multidisciplinary research and education in intelligent and advanced manufacturing systems and processes.
The mission of Alabama IMaDE is to address the future of industrial problems through education, research, and service with a systems integration and industry mindset approach. The initiative will produce broadly educated students with a wide range of career opportunities centered on the future of manufacturing and will cultivate an American workforce to lead the global manufacturing sector through the fourth industrial evolution and beyond.
Through the Alabama Initiative on Manufacturing Development and Education (Alabama IMaDE), students gain direct exposure to state-of-the-art technologies utilized in today’s global manufacturing industries.
IMaDE serves as the primary platform for hands-on instruction in the program, enabling students to develop applied skills in automation, metrology, computer-aided manufacturing, robotics, and advanced programmable logic controls (PLCs), among other key areas of modern manufacturing. The BSMFE program, supported by multidisciplinary research and education in intelligent and advanced manufacturing, provides a comprehensive learning experience that bridges engineering principles with real-world implementation.
Together, a degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and Alabama IMaDE can help you go far!
